Project: Molecule Identity
Visit Molecule

Architects Anja de Spa, Richard Fleming and Jarrod Haberfield founded Molecule in 2010 with the idea that inspired minds work best together.

As a practice, Molecule works across the disciplines of architecture, interiors and art direction.
Studio Round worked closely with
the Molecule team to develop an identity that communicates the client's multifaceted approach.

A kit of branded emboss tools,
stamps and templates were developed that can be reconfigured and applied in a number of ways, giving the
client a flexible solution that’s
able to evolve and grow with the
client’s needs.

Client: Film Victoria

Project: More in Melbourne
Visit More in Melbourne

In April 2011 Film Victoria engaged Studio Round to develop a unique campaign to communicate the benefits of choosing Victoria as location to an increasingly globally competitive industry. As a result we developed the More in Melbourne campaign to promote the Federal Government's financial offsets for overseas productions that choose to shoot in Australia.

The More in Melbourne campaign concept quite literally germinated from the fact that you can find the word 'More' in 'Melbourne.' This became a great container for the core messages –

more partners, more locations, more facilities and more productions. To further the concept, the design response involved a rich and layered graphic language coupled with a suite of ‘behind the scenes’ style imagery showing the process and inner- workings of a film set. Shot by Scottie Cameron, the photoshoot was conducted over 2 days down at the Docklands Studios, involving over 50 cast and crew and was the largest shoot Studio Round has ever commissioned.

Client: Neometro

Project: Harper Lane

Harper Lane is a development of
small office/home office spaces and residential apartments situated in Inkerman Street St Kilda. The development is the brainchild of Neometro Projects and architectural partner MAA.

We were engaged to create an
identity for the development that spoke directly to the defined demographic: 25-37 year old savvy urban professionals.

The identity was inspired by the street language and visuals cues of
St Kilda. We developed a hand drawn suite of graphic elements and type to speak directly to the hip audience likely to be very cynical of obvious advertising approaches. Like St Kilda, the identity communicates an edgyness, bespoke design and established cool. And the graphic devices provide flexibility of visual execution so the campaign could grow with the brand.

Client: Neometro

Project: Airlie Bank

Airlie Bank is a residential development of nine carefully designed apartments that respond to the design culture of the exclusive South Yarra/Royal Botanic Gardens precinct. The development was conceived by Neometro Projects and architectural partner MAA.

The identity for the project communicates exclusivity, luxury, elegance and the rich history of the site. We drew inspiration from the location – formerly a tennis court – to develop the logotype and graphic elements. Photographer Darren Padgham documented textures of the site and surrounds to hint at the timeless quality of the whole area.

Client: Melbourne Fashion Festival

Project: 2005 L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival

L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival
is the premier annual festival that celebrates all things fashion. A hero image that captures the essence of festival themes is created each year.

In 2005, our brief was to produce
an image that combined fashion and
the arts with a link to the Victorian landscape. We used George Stubbs'
A Lion Attacking a Horse
as the backdrop, an image that is iconic
to the people of Victoria.

We art directed the fashion shoot
so the model, who represents beauty, strength and passion, could successfully be superimposed onto the artwork to recreate the tension in the original painting.

Client: Ian Potter Museum of Modern Art

Project: Basil Sellers Art Prize

The Ian Potter Museum of Art is home to the Basil Sellers Art Prize, a biennale event that encourages contemporary Australian artists to reflect and engage with a central tenet of Australian culture – sport.

The identity we created fuses unusual sporting imagery within a gallery context. Other clear sporting references are used as graphic devices to add interest to the visual language.

Client: Melbourne Fashion Festival

Project: 2006 L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival

L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival
is the premier annual festival that celebrates all things fashion. A hero image that captures the essence of festival themes is created each year.

In 2006, the festival themes of theatricality and the spectacle
of performance were central to our
brief. We created an image of darker intensity that captures movement and celebrates the sophisticated and dynamic nature of fashion.

Client: Becton

Project: One East Melbourne

One East Melbourne is a luxurious complex of whole floor apartments situated in the exclusive suburb
of East Melbourne. The beautifully appointed spaces were designed by world-renowned minimalist interior architect Claudio Silvestrin.

Local developer Becton briefed us to create an identity for the complex and to develop a range of sales material that would encourage buyers to spend at least $2.5million on a whole floor apartment.

We produced a clean and refined logotype and colour palette that
are sympathetic to the minimalist qualities of the development. At
the same time, the restrained and elegant identity and sales collateral successfully differentiated the development in the competitive
and overcrowded property-marketing environment.
