People —
Michaela Webb and Robert Nudds founded Round in 2002. Today, they maintain their roles as Creative Director and Strategy Director, leading a team of designers, strategists and copywriters.
Michaela Webb
Creative Director
After years spent in both high-craft and highly strategic design studios, Michaela saw an opportunity for a place that brings the two together. She still believes it’s this coalescence of strategy and considered design that drives results, and delivers work with the strongest impact.
With over 20 years’ experience, Michaela has worked for some of the world’s leading brand and design companies, including Wolff Olins and Spin in London, and in 2016 was elected as a member of the Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI).
Over the decades, she has been able to creatively direct a wealth of projects into much loved destinations. Her knowledge of creating brands that understand consumer needs—aligning storytelling, identity and experience design, has resulted in valuable cultural and commercial outcomes.
Michaela is committed to ensuring that design is part of the conversation across multiple industries, and her expertise is drawn on by clients from sectors such as lifestyle and hospitality, arts and culture, retail, and beyond.
She currently sits as an advisor on boards for RMIT Design Hub and Ian Potter Museum of Art.
Robert Nudds
Strategy Director
Rob is passionate about creating brands and experiences that bring people together. He established Round with the ambition to work with partners who are willing to go where no one else has travelled, and to create work that hasn’t been done before.
First and foremost, Rob is a strategic design thinker, with over 17 years’ experience delivering brand strategy and identity in an agency environment.
As the managing partner of Round, Rob is driven by the business of design and ensuring the studio’s creative endeavour is directed at achieving sustainable commercial and cultural outcomes for clients.
Rob’s focus is on understanding what brands are best at, and aligning those competencies with human needs. Defining vision and brand culture, articulating positioning, and ensuring the product offer and communications are aligned with the business model, are integral to his strategic approach.
Rob’s experience spans many sectors, including lifestyle and leisure, retail and hospitality, property development, resources, arts and culture, finance, manufacturing and professional services.
